Hi All!! After long days, I am here to share the Tips to promote your App through App Store Optimization.

App Store Optimization is a method of ensuring your Mobile application meets App Store Ranking criteria and rank in the Top results.

Analyze your Customer and your Competitors

A Well defined ASO Strategy is to understand the necessities of long lasting Customers and Competitors. To proceed with this, ask certain questions to yourself.
  •        Which language do my customers prefer?
  •         How would they search for my app?
  •         What are the reasons for using my app?
  •         What are the Advantages of my Competitors?
  •         What keywords do my competitors target?
  •         How easily can I compete against my Competitors on their keywords?
  •         Should I target the keywords with more Traffic or the Keywords will minimal Traffic?
Fit your Feet into your Customer’s Shoes. Your Goal is to improve your Mobile Application with Good Content, Keywords and User Friendly UI for reaching the right Customers’ needs. Initiate your ASO Strategies with identifying the right Search Terms.

Choose the Right App Name

For the best results, include relevant Keywords within the Title as it affects the App Store Search Results. The research states, that the Apps with Keywords in its Title has the probability of 10.3% in increasing the App Rank to the Top Page.

The title can hold up to 255 Characters, adding Keywords and related search terms in it. However, don’t Stuff the Keywords, because your First Impression to the Potential Customers is Title and it should be Impressive.

To assure that Your App is properly identified, make the Title short and catchy. You can also add Non-essential Keywords within your Title including Hyphen or Pipe followed by App Name.
Also make sure that your App URL is short and it includes your Keywords.

Maximize your Keywords

Build your Keywords based on your Potential Customers’ search queries. You need to undergo a deep research to frame the Keywords, understanding your Customers’ Mind set. Add the filtered Keywords into your Title and Description.  Update the Keywords list while updating your App and measure your App’s Rank based on the updated Keywords. Based on the App’s improvements determine the Keywords and strategies for SEO.

Keyword Optimization:
  •        Don’t use spaces, comma or under scores.
  •         Use Digits rather than Names of Numbers
  •         Don’t Repeat or Stuff the Keywords
  •         Analyze the Singular and Plural forms of the Keywords
  •         Place the relevant Key phrases in the App Name
  •         Try to occupy the Keyword field with Additional words

Create a compelling Description

Your App Description is essential and it should tempt the Customer to install on their Phones. So add a detailed Description with Keywords and Work flow about your Application. Don’t forget to specify your Features and Advantages. Your App Description and App Content goes on Live when someone installs it. So update your App, App Content and Description periodically.

Unique App Icon

As your Customers browse infinite list of Apps, your Icon is the First impression and it is important to add an Interesting App Icon to acquire more Customers.

Include Screen Shots and Videos

Similar to App Icons, Screen shots in your Description will help to increase your Ranking on App Results Page, possibly driving Customers to Download.

If you upload up to 5 screen shots on IOS and up to 8 Screen shots on Android, only 2 to 3 Screen shots will be shown in the Gallery while loading the Page.

Ensure that your 2 to 3 Screen shots speak widely on your Customer’s needs, directing them to Download or browse more about Your App.

Localize your App Listing

72% of the Consumers prefer their Native language while searching for their Needs like Shopping, even though they are fluent in English. When it comes to “Marketing in Multiple Location”, a “one size fits all” approach is not sufficient.  So adapt your Brand Communication in the Language to which your customers are comfortable with.

Google Play Store and iTunes app Store allow the App developers to localize your Listing for better Discoverability and Readability to the Native customers. This approach increases the Conversion level.

Increase the App Traffic through an effective SEO

On Page optimization is just a Tool to check the Health of your App. When it comes to promoting your App, SEO really helps. It is widely believed that back linking increases the Total Page Visits and overall ranking.

Update Frequently

Customers will look for an App that is constantly improving with Updates based on the Customer’s Reviews. Apps that are frequently updated are preferred by the Potential customers as well as App store, increasing the Trust on your App and Good reviews.
